BENIN REGULATIONS ON FOREIGN TRADE

 

The laws in force in Benin relating to exportation activities are the following:


 

 

In its objectives, the CEMAC Treaty defines the full realization of the CEMAC common market, the promotion of national markets through the elimination of obstacles to intra-Community trade, coordination of development programs, harmonization of industrial projects, creation of a true African common market. See also Articles 27 to 37.

 

 

In addition to the Customs Code, regulations and acts that govern trade in the CEMAC are  :

1. Uruguay Round Agreements:

 

The laws in force in Benin relating to exportation activities are the following :

  • Law No. 93-007 of March 29, 1993 amending Law No. 90-005
  • Law No. 90-005 of May 15, 1990 laying down the conditions for the exercise of trade activities
  • Decree No. 93-313 dof December 29, 1993 on the definition of the profession of importers
  • Decree No. 880/MFDC/CNSAPAS implementing Decree No. 1-23 of 1 February, 1991 establishing a verification system of merchandise imports towards the Republic of Benin
